Recommended Places

Shopping:
·      Primark – Looking for a great and cheap way to stay fashionable in London? This is the place to go! Do be careful though, some things are cheap for a reason.

Repbulic - This is a shop inside the Bentall Centre. I like it a lot because it's got fashionable clothing that's quality, but not too pricey. They also usually have a nice bit of clearance or sale pricing available.

·      Top Shop – Another great shop for some of London’s best fashion.

Food and Drinks:
·      Wetherspoons(The Kings Tun)- This is my favorite pub. It’s a very friendly place to visit at any time of day. It’s also just a five-minute walk from Kingston’s main campus, Penrhyn Road. The food and drinks are cheap and you’re bound to meet great people. I recommend you come on a Tuesday night for the steak special, or if you’re looking for a night out, come on a Friday and watch the lower level turn into a dance floor. If you get the chance, you can even dance with the stair security guard. I haven’t had a bad experience here yet!

·      Nandos – This is the place to get chicken. If you’re craving something spicy, they have it, or you can go without the spices (I always do).  The chicken is phenomenal!

Tasty Bite - A small food shop just down the street from uni. I love the pizza here! Best in town I think.

Entertainment:
·      Odeon Cinema – If you love the cinema, the Odeon will blow you away. It’s the first cinema I’ve seen to have a Ben and Jerry’s bar, a giant wall of candy selections, and it even serves alcohol at certain times.  The theatre is always fun and a great night out. Plus, I’ve had very friendly service at the Odeon at the Kingston’s Rotunda.

·Greenwich - I went to Greenwich for Freshers Week, but if you choose not to partake in this Fresher’s event (which you really ought to) then I suggest you take time on your own to go. It’s a simple ferry ride to Greenwich and there is so much culture and history to experience there. Plus, I had the best burger while there!

Hippodrome - This is a fun night club directly off Brook Street, an easy walk. I recommend going on a Friday night. It's Big Cheese!

There are loads more highlights to Kingston and more great places to visit. This is just a short list of some of the things I’ve done so far.
